Wow! I just saw it, and it's incredible. Far more than I expected, it's like the "Gone With the Wind" of Australia.
If David sees this, there's something I'd like to know about historical accuracy. Toward the end, it's shortly after Pearl Harbor, and the Japanese attack Darwin. Now, when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, even though it was decried as a sneak attack, they did only go after military targets. They did not attack Waikiki hotels or anything like that.
But, in the movie "Australia", when they bomb Darwin, they intentionally go after civilian targets besides going after the shipping. Is that part true?

WOW, I've seen reviews all over the place on this one....most of which can't get past the fact that Nicole Kidman can't act for shit! I'm glad you guys liked it because I wasn't going to go and see it in the theatre....but now I may have to reconsider.

He liked it, and although I would have given it 4 stars to his 3, I really like his review: rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20081125/REVIEWS/811259991

Great! Wow, but how are the Aussies taking it in generally? The guy does look like he's got that Gone With The / Ritt-Gable haircut though. ><Tomasina ChicaWolverina!

I also saw "Twilight" Today and really enjoyed it. I'd read the book, and the movie plot stuck by the book with some necessary condensation.

Welp mates... ok so tonight I finally finisched watching Australia the movie and I just tell you in spite of all its critics (which can go to hell and stuff themselves with dirt) I loved it very much, I'd even watch it over a few times! "I got the last big, bloody, cheeky bull in the big, bloody metal ship." So utterly cute, that little creamy abbo kid, I've adopted him rioght straight away I would. But the thing I would have like to seen more of really is when Micheal Kaine gets it from the giant crocodile, god I'd love to see that for real as it would actually happen! Well and then throw in some Jap prisoners too for even more exciting moments! So go and watch it with the whole bunch of yah! I only wish it had a sequel... I wonder if that last StarTrek will get a sequel, god they blew that whole deal with making Mr. Scott such a jerk, and then there's its "Jar-Jar" moments with the little bee-man sidekick of his... just pathetic, even the kids hate that shit. Hell, they had some nice effects with other humanoid species aboard and in the academy, unless you count the unconvincing "Green Animal Woman" that Kirk was banging in the dorm room too. ><T'Chicawolverina!
