I have a memory of a time when I was, I think, around 4. The reason I know it was when I was 4 was because I remember it coming up when I helping my mom water a garden in the back of the yard of a house we had just moved into in Inglewood, CA.
Anyway, as I was talking to my mom, I distinctly remember telling her that it reminded me of something I used to like to do when I was old. It sort of sounds like a past-life memory that they say many young kids have, or seem to have.
Now, we were Catholic, but my mom wasn't very dogmatic. And, she retained a lot of Irish "superstitions" passed down by her grandmother. She dismissed what I said, but probably just because in the early 50's, she'd never heard any serious discussion on the subject, and not for religious objections. What she said was, "Oh, you must have dreamed it, because you can't be old before you're young." So, I put it out of my mind.
Today, I have a definite memory of having remembered something, but I don't remember what it is that I remembered!
There are many things I wish I'd asked my mom about before she died in 2001, but I did ask her about this one. But she couldn't recall the conversation. But she did say she at least half-believed in reincarnation.
Anyone else have childhood past-life memories? I'm not really subject to hypnotism, so that option is out for me.

Interesting of course Rick! Why do you believe you aren't a good subject for hypnoses? ><Tomasina Chicawolverina!

When I was around 4, I started "remembering" that I was alive during the Salem witch trials, and that I was drowned by a mob....I remembered being pushed under the water. I remember vividly, the sensations of drowning.
I was just a little kid, too, I had never heard about the witch trials until later in life, and when put together, it all made sense to me. I have just forgotten about it now, I barely remember those memories anymore. They have faded away pretty much.
David could hypnotize you. If you are rigid and non suggestible, just sit back and allow it to happen. That's all there is to it, just close your eyes and submit to the voice. Follow instructions as you go deeper into trance.
If you relax your policy just a little you will see that even you can be hypnotized, it's just a matter of making the conscious decision to allow it to happen.

Many have tried to hypnotize me and it never goes anywhere. Tapes have certainly never worked. I guess I'm a bit too analytical to be a good subject. Now, as far as David doing it, I guess I could save up for a trip to Adelaide!
I guess it would take a professional with a lot of patience.
I remember bringing the subject up at age 4, and since it was while watering flowers, I think I was flashing back on being an old man (or old lady) taking care of a garden. Whatever I remembered, I'm sure it was never as detailed as yours. When you remembered being at the Salem Witch Trials, it was before you were ever told anything about them, right?

I didn't remember any trial, but later in life I put two and two together. All I remember is the scene down at the water. I didn't know why, but later I accepted that it had to be the witch trials, because that's the only thing it could have been.
Yes, I had the memories long before I even knew about anything, I was about 4, same as you.

The timeliness of this topic is uncanny to me. Several times over the past couple of weeks I started to send some RS examples of myself to David for his review. Although they are now a year old, they still seem pretty private to me, but if he were to think they could add value to RS I would consider making them public. These reversals were from a hypnosis session. The subject of the session was to regress beyond a past life and into the world of spirit. Hypnotherapist Michael Newton, Ph. D. discovered that not only can people be regressed to a past life but also to what he calls "life between life". He has 3 books "Journey of Souls", "Destiny of Souls" and "Life Between Lives". The person I had the session with was trained by Michael Newton. I believe both of your memories to be real memories from past life experiences. When we are young we are that much closer to have been from spirit. That is why it is easier for children to recall things like that. Unfortunately when children tell people of their experiences they are negated. They are glossed over as imagination. We become conditioned to ignore it consciously, but our spirit retains all its memories from past lives. I had a hard time trusting the experience because of my analytical nature. I had to have 3 sessions of past lives. When the hypnotist felt I was ready there was another session of a past life. Then you are further regressed upon the death of that life to journey to the world of spirit. So I actually experienced 4 past lives. I think there are reversals from those past life sessions that are interesting, but the reversals from the "Life Between Life" session - fascinating. This is coming from someone who once believed that once our bodies die, that's it, the end. We're nothing but dust in the wind. I'm glad I've had the experiences to let me know that although our bodies die, our spirit is eternal. Michael Newton's Web Site: www.spiritualregression.org/michael.html

I have told people about this for a long time, and I always said, "I remember remembering something, but I don't remember what it was I remembered." But, just yesterday, I sat back and concentrated, and remembered I had brought it up while watering the garden. Then, I instantly remembered that I was remembering gardening in a previous life.
