This time I was mounting my bike, threw my leg over to get going, and pulled a musclle around my heart...that radiates pain to my back. I ended up being taken to the hospital where they gave me chest x-rays and tests, and ruled out a heart attack or lungs.
Turns out, it's a deep tissue muscular pull, that really hurts to breathe deep or move around. I am on Tylenol 3's and ativan, to relax the muscles, with a heating pack on it. I am so relieved, I thought I was having a heart attack, since those do run in my family.
But, I'm home now, with meds, and it really has taken the severe edge off the pain. I will never mount my bike on the fly like that, ever again.

I'd be willing to bet with your low meat consumption and body weight, your heart is extremely healthy. But, I wonder how you could pull a muscle around your heart when it was your leg you were stretching...
Glad you're home resting. Enjoy the pain meds...you've earned them!

I was throwing my right leg over the bike to mount as I was riding, I always start then mount on the fly, and all the twisting and pressure came onto my left side, which strained a muscle.
