This is a video by an old friend and past roommate of mine, Jeff Frederick. He died, I think, around 1995, and all of a sudden his songs and videos are all over the Internet. He never got much airplay, but what can you expect when his most famous song was called "Beer Shits." Here's Jeff singing "Can't Quit You."
My job in 1992 was basically to get him to his gigs (he was a terrible drunk), and video-tape his shows. I did not make this video, though.

Here's Jeff at a reunion in Oregon after I got him to move out of my condo in 1993. This is just before his death, I think. He didn't drink himself to death, but when he got drunk he'd be beligerant and constantly get himself beaten up. His death was the result of several head injuries that finally resulted in a cerebral hemmorage as he was sitting in a recliner chair watching TV.
Jeff's full name was Jeffrey Sutton Frederick. "Sutton" was his mother's maiden name, and her brother was the Bank Robber, Willie Sutton, Jeff's uncle. The song he's singing here, "Lord, I Love Robbing Banks," was his tribute to his infamous uncle.

Well, I got really curious and did some digging, and found that Jeff's wife Kathryn, has started a production company called "Frederick Productions." When Jeff died in 1997, his last words were "take care of my music." Since then, she's put out 4 or 5 CD's of his stuff along with music by many of our mutual old friends. Naomi, Kathryn is in Oregon, originally Canadian. I'll bet she could get a career going for you again. Check out the site she built to honor Jeff's memory at www.jeffreyfrederick.comI made contact with her yesterday and we've been exchanging long e-mails all day catching up on old times. We hadn't talked in 17 years, but I remember her saving my life once upon a time. She's re-married, but still uses the name Frederick. Sadly, one of the things we've been talking about most is old friends who have died.
