Ah yes, the Swift Boat Attack campaign is about ready to begin.
The Republicans are quick to remind us, we have everything to fear, and fear we must.
Unless we choose otherwise.

NS Chernobyl! It's sort of odd now that you mention it because it caused me to think about how after the introduction of RS into the mix with the last major attempt to Swift-boat him with that gay hustler it stopped short, the whole thing just stopped. Could it be because RS help lend some credit to the accusations and the powers that be didn't want more news of RS to come out more than they wanted to use this as the vehicle to denounce Obama? Scott McCullen, how long will it take to make him self-suicided as a man that was going through some personal conflicted state and was lashing out against those people that really cared for him the most? How sad. Yeah... like, heh. >< Tomasina ChicaWolverina!

You know it's a hate piece when he's referred to using his full middle name. It's used to promote fear. I won't watch any video with a title like that.

I just had to add that this video represents everything I hate about the right. I managed to get through the first 3 minutes of it and the lies and distortions are far more than I can take. My anger at the scum who produced this knows no limits.
Just a few points: Obama never attended a Madrassa. At best, he was at a secular school when his mother took him to Indonesia. Indonesia is officially a Muslim nation, but as a little child, he did not attend a Muslim School A Madrassa is an Islamic Fundamentalist school for boys that preaches hate. Indonesia is Muslim but has never been on the extreme radical side of it, although there is a terrorist ring that operates out of Jakarta.
Flag lapel pins are actually a breach of official flag etiquette, since flags are not supposed to be used for personal adornment, except on the uniforms of military and police. That's not a law, since any law to that effect would be unconstitutional. Obama has started wearing a flag lapel pin that was given to him by an Iraq veteran.
It is NOT customary to place your hand over your heart during the singing of the national anthem. Go to any ballpark and see how many spectators have their hands over their hearts during the anthem. Some do, but it's not the rule.
It is customary to place your hand over your heart during the pledge of allegiance, but not the singing of the anthem.
Michell Obama's remark that it being the first time she was proud of her country was edited and distorted. What she said was that it was the first time she was REALLY proud, and the networks all cut out the word "really." It was really just a misstatement that got distorted all out of proportion, since it was obvious that what she really meant to say was that she'd never felt more proud in her life.
I'm sure the video went on to dwell extensively on Jeremiah Wright, but what I've commented on is all I was able to stomach before I clicked off.

Today I heard that in Obama's medical report his BP was an exemplary 90/60 which got me thinking of a new campaign slogan. "Obama's no Chaney and is 90/60 too!" K... >< Tomasina ChicaWolverina!

Obama never attended a Madrassa... Flag lapel pins are actually a breach of official flag etiquette, since flags are not supposed to be used for personal adornment, except on the uniforms of military and police... It is NOT customary to place your hand over your heart during the singing of the national anthem... Michell[e] Obama's remark that it being the first time she was proud of her country was edited and distorted. I must confess, I got about as far as you did before I hit the *kill-switch* on my video as well. I am appalled by the tactics the Republicans (most politicians for that matter) will use to gain and remain in power. Obama has run an exemplary campaign and deserves the Oval Office. Early in this campaign season I was hesitant to warm to Obama's candidacy because I didn't think he stood much of a chance. I couldn't picture Obama capturing the hearts and votes of rednecks in Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas. Little did I know that it was the simpleminded folks of Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Kentucky that could be more his campaign's undoing than the good ol' boys in the midwest. It's unfortunate that so many *stoooooopid* people are totally convinced Obama is a Muslim because of either his name or his attendance at a Madrassa in his youth. As far as the flag is concerned, it is a piece of cloth. It is not a holy item of some sort. It isn't supposed to be worshipped. And why do so many people "pledge allegiance to the flag" -- when their allegiance might be better directed to the United States itself? Wearing a flag on a lapel has about as much significance to me as those who wear it on the back side of their jeans, or on their skivvies for that matter! It is not a gauge or meter of one's patriotism by any measure and *flag worshippers* really should focus on getting their own houses and party in order. The Republicans and 502's are going to spend a lot of money this campaign season trying to divert attention away from the important issues of the day to the most divisive of issues. They want the American public to focus on fear first. Fear the Muslim. Fear the black man. Fear the unpatriotic, inexperienced candidate. Fear the man that supports abortion and gay rights. Fear the man that would have us surrender to the terrorists. Yah, fear! Don't be influenced by the really important issues like... - How much did you pay the last time you were at the pump?
- How safe is your job?
- How's the economy in your part of the country?
- How about the roads, highways and freeways?
- How good are the schools in your community? Do you really know?
- Are we really safer today than we were eight years ago? Can we go another four years following our present course?
I truly hope the politics of distraction don't hold so much power of sway at the ballot box this year ... but we shall see.

Rick, et al; I'm glad that this kind of BS peaks your anger. Hold on to it because it's only going to get worse. (From both sides). The reason? Both parties are getting short on campaign financing just at the time when it is needed most to finally get some kind of message across to the American people. How many dollars have been wasted on both sides preaching to the proverbial choir? So who's gonna be left? The fringe elements like these nitwits and move on.org, etc,. You are also spot on with regards to protocol. hand over the heart for the pledge. If you are in the military you salute during the national anthem. If you are wearing a hat you remove it during the national anthem. I think the cross over occurred when people started placing their caps/hats over their hearts during the national anthem and then it sort of gravitated to the empty hand. Of course there are still those that will carry on a conversation during both completely oblivious to whats happening around them. So, yeah its a matter of personal choice. Notice todays drama? Hilary is now crying sexism! The final desperate wail of a desperate candidate who refuses to say uncle! With regard to Mrs. Obama....foot in mouth...nothing more or less! Saturday should be interesting though..... DLEE

I don't think Hillary is crying sexism so much as Bill is. Of course, they are of a like mind on the issue, and he probably is responsible for getting nasty. One thing you can see in this, though, is that whatever their marriage is, they are very close...at least very good friends at this point in life if not lovers.
I want the debates to be issue-oriented. Don't we all? At least your "face the facts" article is issue-oriented, even if not all correct. I should address the specifics, I guess. By the way, our first Vietnam involvement was under Ike, not JFK. It was miniscule, of course, but very few people know that Ho was originally pro-US and asked for Ike's help in getting rid of the French. Ike refused. I don't know enough about the history to judge as to whether Ike was wrong or right.
We are at opposite ends politically, David, but I'll bet we would agree, if we could, to ban ads from the 527 groups. I doubt it would be constitutional, though. But, it seems to me that maybe the networks ought to get together and agree to shut them out. I think this would be legal so long as they apply the ban across the board.

Not sure if this pic will image properly, but here's one of Hillary relaxing on her campaign plane with some reporters, and having a coctail. The male reporter behind her looks amazingly like Charlie Sheen, doesn't he?
